3 SIMPLE STEPS
STEP 1: Select the school
Nearly 20% of U.S. children live in poverty. In northeast Ohio, that percentage is higher. Think about the children you want to help. Is there a specific county, city/town, school district or school? You can select a school or Coats for Kids can identify a school with the majority of students living in poverty (using data from the Ohio Department of Education), then reach out to school leaders to confirm willingness to be home to a coat closet.
STEP 2: Purchase the coats
A donation of $2,500 will provide between 100-125 new winter coats in an assortment of sizes to a school with students in need. Coats for Kids partners with Operation Warm to ensure the best price and highest quality of purchased coats. Once your donation and school selection is finalized, Coats for Kids will order coats, which will be delivered directly to the school to be stored in the coat closet and distributed as needed.
